Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9800 Ledge

July 20, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 9800 Ledge about 3 a.m. today (July 20).

The victim, Jerry Gray Napper, 35, of Pasadena, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant T. Biggs and Senior Police Officer T. Miller reported:

Mr. Napper was in his vehicle at the Indigo Falls apartment complex at the above address when he was shot several times by an unknown person.  Napper managed to drive out of the apartment complex and into the street before he stopped and fell out of his car.  A passing motorist saw him in obvious distress and called 911.  Witnesses reported seeing someone, described only as a black male, jump into the passenger's seat of a maroon vehicle which then fled the scene.

There is no known motive in this shooting.
