July 31, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 8100 Leonora about 11:30 p.m. on Monday (July 30).

The victim, Jason Jacobs, 31, of Houston, was transported to Ben Tuab General Hospital where he died from his wounds.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. Bolton and M. Miller reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a hospital check call at Ben Taub General Hospital regarding a shooting victim, later identified as Mr. Jacobs.  When officers arrived they were told Jacobs had died while in surgery.

HPD homicide investigators then responded to the hospital.  They were told by a witness that Jacobs had flagged him down in the 8100 block of Leonora and stated he had been shot.  The witness then drove Jacobs to the hospital.

There is no known motive or suspect(s).
