Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6911 Boyce

June 18, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6911 Boyce about 11:40 p.m. last Tuesday (June 12).


Edward Montemayer (H/m, DOB: 8-25-89) is charged with murder in the 228th State District Court. A photo of suspect Montemayer is attached to this news release.

The victim, Robert Gutierrez, 25, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants E. Cisneros and W. Meeler reported:

Mr. Gutierrez had a verbal argument with the suspect at the above address. During the dispute, the suspect, described only as an unknown Hispanic male, shot Gutierrez multiple times. The suspect fled in an unknown vehicle. Houston Fire Department personnel responded and paramedics pronounced Gutierrez dead.

Further investigation led to the identification of Montemayer as a suspect in this case and last Friday (June 15) he was arrested without incident.
