Investigation into Body Found at 3300 Redbud

March 2, 2012 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a female found at 3300 Redbud about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday (Mar. 1).

The identity and cause of death of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  She is described only as a black female, 30 to 40 years of age, showing signs of decomposition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Chandler and Senior Police Officer K. Carr reported:

Neighbors smelled a strange odor from a trash pile in a roadside ditch in the 3300 block of Redbud.  Upon further investigation, they found the victim at the bottom of the refuse pile and alerted police.
