UPDATE: Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 1400 Tarberry

March 27, 2012 - The fatal shooting of a man at 1400 Tarberry about 7:15 p.m. on Sunday (March 25) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The deceased male has been identified as Joshua Johnson, 24, of Houston, who suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male shooter, 53, was not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Wilson and Senior Police Officer R. Moreno reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and discovered the body of the victim.  Witnesses told investigators Mr. Johnson was walking on Tarberry when a black Ford F-150 pickup truck pulled along side and someone inside the truck shot him. 

On Monday (March 26), the male shooter turned himself in to police at the HPD North Patrol Station at 9455 West Montgomery Road.  Further investigation determined the shooter and the deceased male had been involved in an eight-month long dispute.
