May 11, 2012 - The fatal shooting of a male at 14255 Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) about 7:20 p.m. on Thursday (May 10) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the male suspect is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer C. Abby and Officer J. Dominguez reported:

According to witnesses, the male suspect appeared to be in a highy agitated state and was beating on a motel room door in an attempt to gain entry.  The suspect first broke a window to the motel room and then ran headfirst into the door.  He then broke down the door and entered the motel room where the male occupant of the motel room then shot him several times.  The suspect was then transported to Northwest Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
