Suspect Sought in May 2011 Murder Investigation

May 15, 2012 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in the aggravated assault of a man at 5916 Gulfton about 1:05 a.m. on May 9, 2011. 
 
The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 22 to 23 years of age, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 115 to 120 pounds, with black hair.  Surveillance photos of the wanted suspect are available upon request.  
 
The victim, Noe Mendez, also known as "Chilango," 36, was struck by a vehicle and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died. 
 
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B. Evans and Officers L. Carballo and T. Andrade reported: 
 
HPD patrol officers responded to a disturbance at the above location and found Mr. Mendez lying on the ground in a parking lot.  Further investigation determined Mendez was struck by a vehicle driven by one of several suspects involved in an altercation inside the Cosmos Disco Nightclub at 5908 Gulfton.   
 
The suspects fled the scene in a black Honda sedan.
