HPD Officers Give a Houston Welcome to Wounded Warrior Heroes

May 21, 2012 - Houston police officers, the United Service Organization (USO) and U.S. military personnel greeted and assisted wounded warriors as they landed at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) last Friday (May 18).

The arrival of more than 200 wounded veterans marked the beginning of "Warrior Weekend."

Photos of the heroes' welcome are attached to this news release.

The sixth annual "Warrior Weekend" is a project of the Wounded Warrior Organization and MomsUSA in which wounded veterans participate in a deep-sea fishing trip in Port O'Connor.  This annual event honors Army and Marine veterans who suffered life-altering injuries during combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
