Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 5417 Anderson

May 25, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 5417 Anderson about 2:05 p.m. on Wednesday (May 23).

The suspect, Casimiro Campos (H/m, DOB: 3-4-48), is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court.  Campos is accused in causing the death of his passenger, Amelia Perez, 46, of Houston.  A photo of suspect Campos is attached to this news release.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant N. Perry and Officer A. Sampson reported:

Campos was driving a blue Chevrolet Suburban and initially was involved in a minor accident near the intersection of South Post Oak Road at Anderson.  The Suburban then traveled through a service station parking lot at the above address and struck the wall of the convenience store.  Campos then drove the vehicle through a fence and into a ditch behind the store.  Ms. Perez was ejected from the vehicle and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she died later that day.  Campos was treated and released for minor injuries at the same hospital.
