Houston Police Department
Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 12660 Medfield Drive

November 21, 2012 -The fatal shooting of one robbery suspect and wounding of another robbery suspect at 12660 Medfield about 10 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 20) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The deceased suspect, identified as Mitchell Deon Tucker, 20, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The second male suspect, 22, also suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in serious condition.  He faces possible charges of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.  A third suspect, described only as a black male, remains at large.

The male shooter, 23, was not injured in the incident.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Senior Police Officer B. Evans reported:

The male had arrived home from work and was talking to a neighbor in the parking lot of the apartment complex at the above address.  Both men were then approached by Tucker and two other black male suspects, two of whom were armed with pistols.  The suspects ordered both victims to give up their wallets, cell phones and keys to their vehicles.

When the suspects saw the victims had little money, they threatened to kill them.  One of the victims, a concealed handgun license holder, pulled out his own weapon and shot Tucker and one other suspect.  They were transported to the hospital, while the third suspect, described only as a black male, fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information on the identity of the third suspect is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
