Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 10500 Spice Lane

October 2, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 10500 Spice Lane about 4:20 a.m. today.


One victim was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. A second male also suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to the same hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Senior Police Officer X. Avila reported:

The victim was being dropped off by a friend in front of an apartment complex at the above address. Both were inside a vehicle when they were approached and confronted for unknown reasons by two unknown black male suspects. At some point, shots were fired in the direction of the men and both were struck. Both victims left the area in the vehicle and drove to a parking lot at Beechnut and the West Sam Houston Parkway service road. The driver then called 9-1-1 and both men were transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital.

The passenger died at the hospital, while the driver is expected to survive his injuries.
