Fatal Traffic Accident at 2400 Southwest Freeway

April 29, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 2400 Southwest Freeway (South U.S. Highway 59) about 5:30 a.m. on Saturday (April 27).

The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Francois and Officer L. Ho reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was trying to cross the mainlanes of the Southwest Freeway outbound near Kirby when he was struck by a motorcycle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcyclist, who was not impaired and was operating at the posted speed limit, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
