August 19, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 200 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 6 a.m. on Sunday (Aug. 18).

The driver of a white Cadillac DeVille was traveling northbound on the Eastex Freeway, then changed lanes and crossed the median. The Cadillac was then struck by a tractor trailer truck. This caused the Cadillac to spin and strike a freeway shoulder divider, killing a rear seat passenger.

It is believed several people were inside the vehicle, however, a male and a female fled the scene.

Evidence obtained at the scene indicates alchohol may have been a factor in the accident.
