Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7300 Washington Avenue

August 27, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another at 7300 Washington about 10:40 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 26).

The identity of the deceased victim, 64, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. The other wounded victim, 43, sustained non life-threatening wounds.

Three armed suspects, described only as black males wearing bandanas and masks, entered the Denny's restaurant at the above location and immediately fired several shots. They ordered all customers and employees to the floor and demanded their property. During the robbery, one suspect shot a male customer, 64, while another suspect shot a restaurant employee, 43, as he tried to flee the business through the front door. The suspects then fled the scene in an unknown minivan.

The older victim was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital and the other victim was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.
