Fatal Shooting at 9700 Plainfield

February 1, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 9700 Plainfield about 5:15 a.m. today.

The identity of the victim, believed to be in his 20s or 30s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Blain and Senior Police Officer P. Vela reported:

Officers responded to calls of gunshots being reported at the above location and located the victim lying on the side of the road. He had suffered a gunshot wound to the head. Paramedics transported the man to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
