Investigation into Man's Death at 12000 Martin Luther King Boulevard

February 1, 2012 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in theapparent accidental death of a man found at 12000 Martin Luther King Boulevard about 11:20 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 31).

The victim, Casimiro Ibarra Compean, 82, suffered burns and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants H. Garcia, M. Holbrook, T. Simmons and Officer L. Wright reported:

Houston Fire Department personnel responded to a fire in a second floor apartment at the above address. The victim was found lying on a mattress inside the apartment. At this time, it is believed he may have fallen asleep with a lit cigarette.
