Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 1500 Blalock

January 22, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 1500 Blalock about 3:20 a.m. on Sunday (Jan. 20).

The suspect, Roberto Botello-Lopez (H/m, DOB: 12-9-74), is charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #1.  He is accused of fatally striking a male pedestrian, 27, of Houston.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Shaw and Officer I. Jefferson reported:

The suspect was driving a silver BMW 330-I south on Blalock when he struck a pedestrian attempting to cross four main lanes.  The pedestrian was not at or near a cross walk.  The man was transported to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The driver was questioned by officers and arrested for driving while intoxicated.
