Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7105 Darien

January 22, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7105 Darien about 7:35 p.m. on Monday (Jan. 21).

The suspect, Joseph Allen Green (b/m, DOB: 3-15-83), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of a man, 29, whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A photo of suspect Green is attached to this news release.

HPD Homicide Division Officers K. McDonald and J. Horn reported:

Officers were called to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital and told a male patient had been assaulted in the back yard of a residence at 7105 Darien.

Investigators learned the victim and suspect were friends and were among a group of friends when an argument started and quickly turned into a physical confrontation.  At that time, the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim multiple times.  Witnesses transported the victim to the hospital where he later died.

Green was identified as the suspect in the case and he was arrested hours later without incident.
