Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3939 Tolnay

January 28, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of three others at 3939 Tolnay about 6:25 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 26).

James E. Hawkins, 28, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Three other men also suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.  One victim, 20, was transported in critical condition. The other two men, 20 and 26, were listed in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer C. Scales and Officer I. Ulloa reported:

Two armed males entered the private residence at the above address and shot the four men inside.  They then fled the scene.  At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.
