Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 15900 Willbriar Lane

July 5, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the apparent suicide of a man and wounding of a woman at 15900 Willbriar Lane about 1:45 a.m. on Thursday (July 4).  

The deceased male suspect, 40, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  The female victim, 39, also suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is expected to survive.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants C. Howard and W. Meeler reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address.  Further investigation determined the male and female, who had been dating for several years, had gotten into an argument.  The argument escalated and, at some point, the male shot the female and then turned the gun on himself.  
The investigation is continuing.
