Wanted Suspect Fires Shot at Officers at 8600 Rayson

June 14, 2013 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for firing a shot at officers at 8600 Rayson about 12:25 a.m. today.

The unknown suspect is described only as a Hispanic male.

No HPD officers were injured nor discharged their weapons during the incident.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick and Officer L. Wright reported:

Two officers with the Crime Reduction Unit were on routine patrol when they observed the driver of a tan Chevrolet Suburban commit a traffic violation. The officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but the driver refused to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The Suburban left the roadway in the 8600 block of Rayson and two Hispanic males inside the vehicle fled on foot. One of the suspects then opened fire on the officers. Neither officer was hit and the suspects managed to get away and remain at large.
