Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1207 75th Street

March 04, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 1207 75th Street about 12:50 a.m. on Sunday (March 3). 

The suspect, Raymond Castro (H/m, DOB: 10-4-46), is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Santos Caceres, 52, of Houston, who was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died.  A photo of suspect Castro, with injuries sustained in the initial assault, is attached to this news release. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Senior Police Officer J. Villareal reported: 

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a bar located at the above address.  A preliminary investigation determined Caceres had been shot and was transported to the hospital where he died.  Patrons inside the club assaulted the suspect who then fled the scene. 

Further investigation identified Castro as the suspect in this case.  He was later located at his residence and taken into custody without incident.  Castro admitted to investigators he shot Caceres following an argument inside the bar.
