2nd UPDATE: Composite Sketch in Fatal Shooting at 10910 Gulf Freeway #195

May 22, 2013 - Houston police have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 10910 Gulf Freeway #195 about 1:30 a.m. on May 4.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a chubby face with healing scars or acne.  A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release and at the end of a surveillance video posted on the HPD YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/80wiZoKoScI

The victim, Evans Butler, 25, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Blain and Senior Police Officers M. Condon, B. Evans and T. Miller reported:

An unknown male suspect kicked in the front door of an apartment at the Cabo San Lucas Apartment complex at the above address.  Once inside, the suspect demanded money from Mr. Butler.  When Butler did not comply, he was shot.  The suspect then fled the scene in an unknown direction. The suspect is described only as a black male.

Surveillance video, released by investigators on May 7, shows a dark colored Dodge Charger and an unknown white four-door vehicle pull into the apartment complex parking lot.  The vehicles then go out of camera range, possibly parking in the street.  A short time later, a black male is seen coming from the area of the victim's apartment and skipping through the parking lot in the direction of the vehicles.  A second individual was seen on the video, but is not clear enough to distinguish a description.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
