Fatal Traffic Accident at 4700 Almeda Genoa

October 7, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4700 Almeda Genoa about 2:40 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 6).

The identities of the two deceased victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer J. Morales reported:

The driver of a green Honda Accord was traveling southbound on MLK Boulevard and failed to make a complete stop at a stop sign before turning left onto Almeda Genoa. The Honda was then struck by a red Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling westbound on Almeda Genoa. The Ford then rolled over, came to a stop in a gas station parking lot and then burst into flames. The driver and passenger in the Ford died at the scene. The driver of the Honda was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.

The investigation is continuing.
