Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 5600 Katy Freeway

October 15, 2013 - A suspect has been arrested and charged in a fatal traffic accident at 5600 Katy Freeway about 12:10 a.m. today (Oct. 15).

The suspect, Brittini Kressin (w/f, DOB: 7-1-87), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 351st State District Court. A photo of suspect Kressin is attached to this news release.

The female victim, 20, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Tapia and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:

Kressin was driving a silver Chevrolet Cavalier and entered the eastbound exit ramp of the Katy Freeway to North Durham going the wrong way. The Cavalier then struck a blue Toyota Corolla in its right rear side. The victim, who was a passenger in the Corolla, was then taken to the hospital where she died. Kressin was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for minor injuries. She was taken into custody and then to jail after exhibiting signs of being intoxicated.
