April 16, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1300 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 12:20 a.m. today.
The male victim, 71, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Senior Police Officer R. Bymaster reported:
A pedestrian (victim) was attempting to cross the freeway in the 13000 block of the North Freeway. A tan Ford Explorer and a white Ford F-150 pickup truck were both traveling north on the freeway and were unable to avoid striking the victim. Both drivers of the vehicles remained at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication.
At this time, there are no charges are expected in this case. The investigation is continuing.
