Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 7500 South Freeway

April 24, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7500 South Freeway (South Highway 288) service road about 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday (April 23).  

The female victim, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Rossman and Officer A. Hart reported:  

The driver of a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling northbound on the South Freeway service road and attempting to flee a previous accident.  The Silverado ran a red light at the intersection of Holly Hall and struck a blue Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Holly Hall.  The passenger in the Camry died at the scene.  The Camry's male driver, 48, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was treated and released.  The driver of the Silverado, a female, 26, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with no apparent injuries.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
