Two Suspects Arrested, Charged in Toddler's Death at 9601 West Montgomery

April 29, 2014 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the death of a toddler at 9601 West Montgomery #35 about 11:30 a.m. on Friday (April 25).

Suspects Damien Lamont Henderson (b/m, 23) and Trachell Foster (b/f, 23) are charged with injury to a child causing serious bodily injury in the 177th State District Court.  Photos of both suspects are attached to this news release.

The toddler, a 13-month-old boy, was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Senior Police Officer L. Bailey reported:

HPD homicide investigators were called to the scene after the child was transported to the hospital.  Further investigation revealed he had been left in the care of his mother's (Trachell Foster) boyfriend (Damien Lamont Henderson) while she went to a job interview.  

During the investigation, Henderson admitted to striking the toddler repeatedly with a belt on Friday (April 25) and on several previous occasions  Results of a preliminary examination indicated the child had extensive internal injuries inflicted over a period of time. 

The investigation is continuing.
