Update: Investigation into Man Found Deceased at 808 North York

August 11, 2014 - Houston police have learned the identity of a man found deceased at 808 North York about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday (August 3).

The male is identified as Guillermo Legoreta, 43, of Mexico. An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined he suffered no apparent injuries.

Two photos of Legoreta from 2011 and 2012 are attached to this news release in an effort to assist investigators in locating Legoreta's family members.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers D. Shorten and M. Condon reported:

A female and her family, riding bikes, discovered a man's body floating in Buffalo Bayou at the above address, caught in debris. She notified HPD, and the HPD Dive Team Unit recovered the body. The male had a black Kyocera flip phone in his possession, as well as a Mexican peso in his pocket.

Mr. Legoreta was positively identified by the Texas Department of Public Safety and, at this time, it has not been determined if foul play was involved.
