Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 11800 Beechnut

August 18, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 11800 Beechnut about 3:55 a.m. on Sunday (August 17).

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right arm and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Jewell and Senior Police Officer R. Bolton reported:

A resident of the apartment complex at the above address was awakened by a knock on his door. An unknown male then led the resident to the victim, who was lying in the parking lot. The unknown male told the resident the pair had been robbed and then left the scene.

The resident then observed the victim was bleeding from his right side and called 9-1-1. HFD paramedics then responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he later died.
