Update: Suspects Arrested,Charged in Female's Death at 16447 El Camino Real

February 10, 2014 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the death of a female found at 16447 El Camino Real about 4:10 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 8).

Suspect Jose E. Reyes (H/m, DOB: 10-24-96) is charged with capital murder in the 338th State District Court. A photo of Reyes is attached to this news release.

A second male suspect, 16, has been referred to the Harris County Juvenile Probation Authority on a charge of capital murder.

The victim, 15, suffered head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Williams and Officer M. Condon reported:

The victim was found in a vacant apartment by a resident who observed the door was open. She was partially clothed, had severe head trauma, and appeared to have been sexually assaulted. Evidence indicating occult activity was found in the apartment and on her body.

Further investigation led to the identification of both suspects in this case and, on February 9, Reyes was arrested without incident. The juvenile suspect was arrested today, also without incident.
