Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6200 Nyoka

January 06, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two others at 6200 Nyoka about 1 a.m. last Saturday (Jan. 4).  

One victim, Wayland Clark, 24, of Houston, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Odom and Senior Police Officer M. Coleman reported:  

Mr. Clark and two other males were attending a large birthday party at a private residence at the above address.  Unknown suspects were sitting in a vehicle parked in a parking lot of a business next to the residence.  At some point, shots were fired from the vehicle and struck Clark and the two males.  Clark was taken to the hospital where he died.  The two other males were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for non life-threatening injuries.  

The wanted vehicle is described only as a light-colored, four-door car, possibly a Honda or Toyota.  

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.
