Investigation into Man's Death at 7500 Bellerive

October 13, 2014 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man at 7500 Bellerive #129 about 9 a.m. on Friday (Oct. 10).

The man's identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Tolls and Officer T. Tyler reported:

Houston police officers were at the above address attempting to serve the man an arrest warrant for a previous case. As officers were about to enter the apartment, a single gunshot was heard from inside. Officers then set up a perimeter and requested the assistance of the Houston police department's Special Weapons and Tactical (SWAT) team.

SWAT team officers arrived and entered the apartment. Once inside the apartment, the male suspect was found deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No weapons were discharged by HPD officers and the cause of death will by determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

As is customary in in-custody deaths, this incident is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions.
