Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 4300 Yellowstone

October 27, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4300 Yellowstone about 8:10 p.m. on Sunday (October 26).

The male victim, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant W. Shields and Officer M. Matthews reported:

The driver of a red Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound on Yellowstone and had the right of way. The driver of a tan GMC Yukon was northbound in the 6700 block of Sidney and, according to evidence from the scene, ran the stop sign. The Dodge struck the GMC, causing it to slide across the intersection. The GMC then struck large shrubbery and rolled over. The driver of the GMC died at the scene. The driver of the Dodge, who remained at the scene, was not injured.
