Suspect Arrested, Other Victims Sought in Sex Assault Investigation

April 9, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the sexual assault of a juvenile female at 10110 Forum Park Drive in March.

The suspect, Billy Gaston Young (b/m, 62), is charged with sexual assault of a child in the 177th State District Court. A photo of Young is attached to this news release.

On March 13, officers responded to a report of possession of child pornography at 9817 Bissonnet, a cell phone store.  The clerk stated a customer had brought in a phone he had bought from a friend and wanted to activate the phone on his account.  During the activation process, the employee observed child pornography on the cell phone and made the customer aware after calling police.

Officers then took custody of the phone and found several videos depicting the sexual assault of two young females.  The females were then identified and interviewed.

Further investigation developed information on Young as a suspect in this case and, on March 21, he was arrested and confessed to his role in the incidents.  Young worked as a maintenance man at the Sugar Branch Apartments on Forum Park Drive, and it was there he met his victims.  Young would befriend low-income families with female children.  Once he had obtained their trust, he provided them with money and groceries, transportation and child care, to allow him to have access to the children.

It is believed there are additional victims in the area.  Young previously worked as a maintenance man at different apartment complexes in the Forum Park area of west Houston.
