April 15, 2015 - A second suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a male at 11290 Fondren about 7 p.m. last Friday (April 10).

The suspect, a 16-year-old male, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of tampering with evidence.

The victim, Ezra Ryan Jackson, 16, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia and Officer J. Horn reported:

Mr. Jackson was driving a vehicle with the suspect, Davis, and other teenagers when they stopped for fuel at a gas station at the above address.  The suspect, Davis, told investigators he was handling a gun and unintentionally discharged it, striking Jackson.  Jackson exited the vehicle and collapsed a few feet away.  He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.  Further investigation determined the juvenile suspect had moved the gun following the shooting and he was subsequently charged with tampering with evidence.
