Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 8500 Cook

April 6, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of two other persons at 8500 Cook Road about 7:30 p.m. on March 3.


The suspect, Donald D. Beckett (b/m, 29), is charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 263rd State District Court. A photo of Beckett is not available at this time, pending further investigation.

The deceased victim was identified as Isaac Tandoh, 28, of Houston. The two wounded victims, a man, 42, and woman, 35, were treated and released from area hospitals.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B. Nabors and Officer J. Rexroad reported:

A group of individuals in front of a barber shop at the above address got into a verbal argument with at least one of the victims. Soon after, an unknown black male opened the front door of the business and starting shooting. Three persons were struck and the suspect fled the scene.

Further investigation led to the identity of Beckett as the suspect in this case and, on March 31, he was arrested without incident.
