Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 10100 Kempwood

January 2, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 10100 Kempwood about 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday (December 31).  

The suspect, Eduardo Davila (H/m, 22), is charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with an invalid license in Harris County Criminal Court #15.  A photo of Davila is attached to this news release.  

The male victim, 74, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Vanderbull and Officer K. Heaverlo reported:  

The victim attempted to cross the street, not in a crosswalk, and was struck by a gold Honda Accord traveling eastbound on Kempwood.  The driver of the Honda (Davila) was detained at the scene.  He was determined to be impaired and subsequently charged.
