Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 2524 Firnat

January 12, 2015 - Two suspects have been arrested, charged in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of another man found at 2524 Firnat about 6:30 p.m. on January 7.  

The suspect, Jose Rufino Espinoza (H/m, 22) is charged with murder in the 337th State District Court.  His brother, Roberto Salazar (H/m, 19) is charged with tampering with evidence in the 232nd State District Court.  Photos of the suspects are attached to this news released.

The victim, Juan Gabriel Espinosa, 37, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Klementich and T. Colbert reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found one male outside the trailer home with a gunshot wound to his left hand.  Mr. Espinosa was found deceased inside the home.  He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.  The wounded male was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.   

Further investigation identified Jose Rufino Espinoza dn Roberto Salazar as suspects in this case.  On Saturday, January 10, San Jacinto County Sheriff's Deputies arrested both men in Shepherd, Texas.  They then confessed to their roles in the shootings.
