Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 9400 Rosehaven

January 26, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9400 Rosehaven about 9:55 p.m. last Friday (January 23).  

The male victim, 20, a pedestrian, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer L. Galvan reported:  

The driver of a Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Rosehaven when another vehicle of unknown make or model suddenly swerved into his lane.  The driver of the Chevrolet swerved onto the sidewalk and struck the victim.  The vehicle then rolled over, struck a tree and a parked black Cadillac, before coming to a stop in a nearby yard.  The pedestrian was killed.  The driver of the Trailblazer, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.  

No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
