Fatal Crash at 4327 Braysworth

June 22, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4327 Braysworth that occurred about 1:50 p.m. on Sunday (June 21).


The victim, Nathaniel Vasquez, Jr., 2, was transported to West Houston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dukes and Officer D. Jones reported:

The victim's father, 33, backed a Gold Toyota 4Runner into the driveway at the above address while Nathaniel was playing in the front yard with two other children. The father then loaded a cooler into the rear vehicle compartment, got back into the vehicle and drove forward. At that time, the father heard his sister scream and stopped the vehicle. He then found his son had been struck by the vehicle. The father then placed Nathaniel in another vehicle and began to drive him to an area hospital. While en route to the hospital, the father flagged down a Houston Fire Department ambulance. HFD personnel then placed Nathaniel in the ambulance and transported him to West Houston Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The father, who did not show any signs of intoxication, provided a statement and was released.

The investigation is continuing.
