Help Us, Help You Find Officer-Involved Shootings Information on HPD Website

June 23, 2015 - The Houston Police Department has a new feature on its website designed to provide the public with information on officer-involved shooting (OIS) incidents.

Several months ago, Police Chief Charles A. McClelland, Jr. challenged members of his executive and command staffs to design a web link the public could access online to review information on shooting incidents involving HPD officers.

During his regular monthly meeting with members of the media last Thursday (June 18), the Chief spoke on the reasons why the site with such information is long overdue.

Chief McClelland's comments and a tutorial on how to navigate the new OIS page is on the HPD YouTube channel athttps://youtu.be/mJuzNRShyk8

The OIS link and icon can now be accessed on the home page of the HPD website at www.houstonpolice.org.

Keeping the public informed on such matters is part of HPD's "Help Us, Help You" campaign, aimed at sharing information and educating citizens on crime prevention and everyday tips related to public safety in our city.
