Investigation into Fatal Traffic Accident at 700 North Victory

March 9, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 700 North Victory about 5:35 p.m. on Friday (March 6).

The male victim, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer M. Matthews reported:
The driver of gray Dodge 1500 pickup truck was traveling southbound in the 7700 block of Banjo.  He failed to yield the right of way at a stop at the intersection of Banjo and North Victory and was struck on the passenger's side by a black Mercury Capri.  The victim, a passenger in the Dodge, died at the scene.  There were no other injuries in this incident.

Intoxication is not believed to be a factor in this incident and there are no charges at this time.  The investigation is continuing.
