Update: Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 5300 De Soto

December 27, 2018 - Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of a juvenile male that occurred at 5300 De Soto about 2 p.m. on December 16.  

The suspects, Melvin Josue Salvador (H/m, 18) and Celso Onelio Sandoval (H/m, 25), are charged with murder in the 230th State District Court.  Both are accused in the killing of Edwin Triguerus, 16, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased on December 18.  

Booking photos of both suspects are not releasable at this time pending further investigation.  

HPD Homicide Division Investigators K. Fregia and K. McDonald reported:

Mr. Triguerus was seen talking to a male suspect in a red, four-door Acura when he was shot.  At that time, there were no known suspects in the case.  

Further investigation identified Sandoval and Salvador as suspects in this case.  The investigation is continuing.
