August 26, 2019 - Houston police are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspect involved in a fatal crash that occurred at 9600 Stroud Drive about 9:40 p.m. on December 2, 2018.

The female victim, Emma Lopez, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officers R. Singleton and J. Jones reported:

Ms. Lopez was walking southbound on Corporate Drive when she attempted to cross Stroud Drive.  While in the crosswalk, she was struck by a small, dark-colored SUV that had been stopped at the four-way stop sign and then turned left (eastbound) onto Stroud Drive.

Surveillance video shows the female driver stopped after striking Lopez, turned on her hazard lights, got out of her vehicle, and walked toward Lopez, who was lying in the street.  The driver got back into her vehicle and appeared to make a phone call.  The driver then drove forward a short distance and stopped a second time.  After a brief moment, she then drove away.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
