Investigation into Shooting at 8550 Almeda Road
July 10, 2019 - The shooting of a male that occurred at 8550 Almeda Road about 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday (July 9) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in an unknown condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers M. Combs and A. Barker reported:
A female (witness) and a male were involved in a crash and both vehicles stopped in a gas station parking lot at the above address. As she made contact with the male driver, the female called her boyfriend and a second witness to the parking lot.
The boyfriend approached the male driver near his vehicle and a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, the male driver stated he feared for his life and retrieved a pistol from his vehicle and fired at the boyfriend. The driver then left the scene and called 9-1-1 from a nearby location. Paramedics transported the wounded male to the hospital.
Neither the female nor the second witness were injured.
