Investigation into Shooting at 9001 Denton Street
July 18, 2019 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 9001 Denton Street about 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (July 17).
The victim, Torious Williams, 19, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with a gunshot wound to the left leg.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer K. Saulsberry reported:
Mr. Williams and a male suspect got into an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. As Williams was knocked to the ground, a second male suspect pulled out a gun and shot him once in the leg.
A nearby witness confronted the suspect and took the gun to prevent him from shooting Williams again. The suspect then retrieved a second weapon from his vehicle, pointed it at the witness and demanded his gun back. Once the witness returned his weapon, both suspects got into a vehicle, described as a blue Nissan sedan.and fled the scene in an unknown direction. The witness then called 9-1-1.
