Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2100 South State Highway 6

December 2, 2020 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 2100 South State Highway 6 about 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday (December 1).

The male victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Uribe and Officer V. Ramos reported:

The victim, in a wheelchair, was crossing South State Highway 6 eastbound at the above address (not in an intersection) when he was struck by a black Lincoln MKX.  The driver and a witness remained at the scene and called 9-1-1.  The driver stated he did not see the victim crossing the highway.  He was given a field sobriety test by an HPD DWI Task Force officer and showed no signs of intoxication.   

There are no charges in this incident.
