Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7604 Clarewood Drive

December 14, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4400 San Jacinto Street that occurred about 11:55 a.m. on October 10.  

The suspect, Marcus Deshawn Barnes (b/m, 45) is charged with murder and felon in possession of a weapon in the 208th State District Court. A booking photo of Barnes is attached to this news release.
Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 7604 Clarewood Drive about 7:20 p.m. on Saturday (December 12).

The victim, 29, was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Arrington and L. Osborn reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting at the above address.  Upon arrival, they learned the victim had been shot multiple times.

Witnesses stated the victim had been standing in front of a convenience store at the above address when an unknown suspect approached from behind.  The suspect the fired multiple times, striking the victim. The suspect then fled the scene on foot. 

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, young-looking and short.  He was wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans.
