Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 4250 West 34th Street

December 30, 2020 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 4250 West 34th Street about 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 29). 

The suspect, Arturo Puebla (H/m, 24) is charged with manslaughter in the 230th State District Court.  A booking photo of Puebla is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim, 21, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers P. Pak and C. Flora reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at an apartment at the above address and met with Puebla and possible witnesses.  Officers learned the victim had been shot and transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

Detectives learned the victim was at Puebla's apartment for a visit.  At some point, Puebla recklessly discharged his firearm and struck the victim.  Puebla was detained and subsequently charged in the shooting.
